Information
Unreal Tournament was one of the few games (along with Quake 3 Arena, Bomberman Online, Toy Racer and Outtrigger) to allow the user to enter their own IP-address for the gameserver.
Unfortunately, the PC and DC versions are not compatible and numerous attempts have been made to get the PC-servers working with the DC version of the game, without success.
UTDC was done at Secret Level, which were later bought by SEGA and closed down.
The lead-developer of the game is now working at Epic Games, where they have searched the archives for tape backups containing anything related to the title without success.
Rumour has it that one of the guys on the original team actually has the server-software and the sources for the game, although noone has confirmed or gotten ahold of this.
Unfortunately, that is as far as anyone have gotten with this title regarding the online-mode.
